FORMER POSTAL Josef Lanner (April 12, 1801 April 14, 1843) was an austrian composer of dance music. He is best remembered as one of the first Viennese waltz to reform a simple peasant dance to something that even high society could enjoy, as accompaniment for dancing or for own delight for music composers. He was as famous as his friend and rival Johann Strauss, who was better known outside of Austria for concert tours realizen France and England - NOT CIRCULATED - OPERA.
